The early morning mist cleared to reveal an exciting showdown at the XLRI ground in Jamshedpur on April 14th. The stage was set for a gripping 15-over cricket match between the spirited staff of XLRI and the seasoned alumni of Loyola School, Jamshedpur. As the sun began to rise, the players from both teams eagerly took their positions, ready to exhibit their skills and passion for the game.

The XLRI team, set out to make an impact with the bat. Rajan's resilient knock of 20 runs provided a solid foundation for the team, supported admirably by Prof. Param, who contributed a valuable 19 runs. Meanwhile, Mr. Shakti showcased his bowling prowess, claiming 2 crucial wickets and keeping the Loyola Alumni team on their toes.

The Old Xavierite's Association (TOXA) of St. Xavier's College, Ahmedabad organised a Charity Event for the Mentally Challenged and Old Age Home at Unteshwari (near Kadi) on 13th April, 2024.

TOXA ave away 2 bedsheets, 2 cushion covers and a kit of daily essentials compromises of a soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, tongue cleaner, hair oil, shampoo.

Thanks to the generous donation by our alumni and staff members, we distributed 100 kit.

A Concert by Bandish Vaz followed by DJ Shivam.  First year and second year students and faculty members joined together to give farewell to the 2023-24 batch of St. Xavier's College, Ahmedabad with a memorable musical night.TOXA is the alumni association of  St. Xavier's College, Ahmedabad Gujarat.

Dr. Venugopal Govindaraju is an alumnus of my alma St. Xavier's School, Doranda, Ranchi, India, and my batchmate from the Class of 1980.

Dr. Venu Govindaraju, Vice president for research and economic development, is the principal investigator of the National AI Institute for Exceptional Education that is creating AI systems to assist children with speech and language disorders at the University of Buffalo, USA.

Dr. Venugopal Govindaraju, a distinguished researcher, has made significant contributions to the field of Pattern Recognition. Here are some key highlights from his impressive career:

  • Education: Dr. Govindaraju earned his Bachelor’s degree with honors from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur in 1986. He later completed his Ph.D. at SUNY Buffalo in 1992.

Today ( Sunday 17 th March ) APX was invited by the HL alumni to play a friendly tennis ball cricket match on their ground.

From 7 am onwards quite a few alumni/ae got together and tested their fitness & enjoyed a good game of cricket .

After the game it was bonding over tea and snacks was fulfilling.

Sports is a platform to play, network, share and plan ahead. Joining hands for programs is a positive approach to make the same larger and meaningful.

Day- Nite Basketball Cup organised by TOXA (The Old Xavierites' Association, Ahmedabad) on 16th March.

More than 40 alumni came to play basketball with their batch mates. The event pull nearly 150 alumni to meet and greet their friends and faculties.

Total 11 teams of 4 players participated. Rohit Khushwa won the tournament with his team.

Among the awards a special award was given to the best Alumni of the Tournament to Vrinda Dave of 2015 Batch. She also won the runner-up award.

Nearly 21 different awards and medals were given.

Imagine a bustling university campus, not defined by the hum of lectures, but by the joyful chorus of birdsong. This is the reality at St Aloysius College (deemed to be university) in Mangaluru, India.

For the sixth consecutive year, these green havens transformed into avian observation zones during the annual Campus Bird Count, a citizen science initiative.
