PBW Blood Donation & Super Speciality Health Check-up Camp (Belagavi)

A LIFESAVING INITIATIVE BY ST. PAUL’S SCHOOL ALUMNI

Our cherished alumni group, affectionately known as The Paulites of Belgaum Worldwide (PBW), yet again showcased their unwavering dedication to our community's betterment.

Guided by President Dr. Madhav Prabhu (alumnus 1996) and PBW Medical Committee Chairman Dr. Anil Patil (alumnus 1987), alumni orchestrated a transformative event: the Blood Donation and Super Specialty Health Check-up Camp.

This annual initiative signifies their enduring commitment. This effort extended its care to Jesuits of St. Paul’s, retired and current staff, proud Paulites, and their families. Specialist doctors, esteemed Paulite alumni, graced the event, offering free ECG reports, medical assessments, and more. They encourage follow-up consultations, nurturing holistic health. Dedicated female specialists empowered women's health, underscoring inclusivity. Our medical setup, boasting more than beds and advanced equipment, ensured quality care.

Support from hospitals, Rotaract Clubs, Parent Teacher Association, Paulite alumni, and more organisations, enriched the event.

A total of 225 units of blood were contributed by kind school alumni and Belgaum residents. Though some couldn't donate due to low hemoglobin, their intent matters and is appreciated. This blood aids patients at KLE Hospital, easing Thalassemia and bypass surgery journeys. In emergencies, donors' families receive support.

Our thanks extend to all involved, including St. Paul's school authorities for enabling this mission. The inauguration, graced by Jesuit Management, Paulites, and accomplished alumni doctors, filled us with pride.

This initiative epitomizes St. Paul’s strong spirit, reflecting values instilled here. As we mark our nation’s Independence Day and the Assumption Feast, let's find inspiration in these selfless acts, working together for a better world—one kind deed at a time.
