VOBA Batch of 1983 donates to Guru Nanak Medical Foundation

On Saturday the 26th of March 2020, the Batch of 1983  came forward to donate a Blood Collection Recliner & 5 Wheelchairs to the Guru Nanak Medical Foundation.

This is not the first time that the 1983 batch has done something of this nature but time and again they have catered to the Gurudwara during Covid times and various other projects related to their Alma Mater and beyond.

Mr. Mohinder Kandhari, Batch of 1975 (Old SSC), rightly puts it, what our school has given us is what we are trying to practice and in doing so, Mohinder Kandhari, Secretary of Gurudwara Guru Nanak Darbar (GGND) is instrumental in doing yeoman service with the facilities provided at the Gurudwara, having their own hospital with state of the art infrastructure, with the charges to its bare minimum, they also run a full fledge School & College as well as feeding the poor on a daily basis. (Langar)

There was a large representation from the batch of 1983 with Eustace Fernandes in particular who had come down from US.

The batch of 1983 has been a constant support to the Gurudwara through their generous donations from the time of Covid till this very date.

It was nice to hear Mohinder Kandhari speak his heart out on the quality of the 18,000 Syringes that was donated by the 1983 batch, where in, not a single one broke, its a record is what he said, the earlier syringes donated by other sources, did not last and would break easily while administering the Vaccine, thus causing harm to the receiver.

It was such a privilege to see Rev. Fr. Francis Patekar, Ex-Officio VOBA & PCA-Pune Province, Bless the equipment in the presence of Rev. Fr. Vikram Shingare, Vice Principal, SVHS along with VOBA EC members and Vincentian Dignitaries.

A wonderful speech by Mohinder Kandhari led to the felicitation of the Dignitaries at the hands of the GGND officials.

Mr. Mohinder and the Gurudwara Committee has come forward to donate a concentrator to St. Vincent’s High School which will be presented in due course, the Jesuits of the Pune Province and Locals will surely benefit as the service will be available free of cost along with Oxygen Cylinders 24x7.

We were indeed treated to a lip smacking breakfast as the saying goes “No one should go Hungry”

Thanks very much to all those associated with the Batch of 1983 & to the Gurudwara Officials Mr. S. Charanjit Singh Sahni, President & Mr. S. Kuljit Singh Choudhri, Secretary and Mohinder Kandhari, Secretary at GGND for acknowledging this wonderful gesture.
