JAAI Central Zone Conclave Shines Light on Alumni Engagement

The JAAI Central Zone Conclave took place today, in the vibrant city of Dhanbad, bringing together esteemed alumni, patrons, and representatives to discuss the significance, activities, and mission of the Jesuit Alumni Associations of India (JAAI). The event was a resounding success, fostering meaningful conversations and outlining plans for the future.

Mr. Rajeev Talwar, the Vice President of JAAI from the Central Zone, eloquently explained the importance of JAAI and its various initiatives aimed at fostering collaboration among alumni. He emphasized the need to rope in more alumni to strengthen the network and extend the association's reach.

Rev. Fr. Bob Slattery SJ, the revered patron of JAAI, shared his insights on the inclusion of vernacular schools within the JAAI framework, emphasizing the importance of reaching out to diverse educational institutions and communities.

Mr. Ronald D'Costa, who has extensive experience working with the World Union of Jesuit Alumni (WUJA) Global Network, shared his valuable insights on collaboration and partnership opportunities with WUJA, highlighting the benefits of a global network.

Mr. Devendra Singh, the WUJA South Asia representative, discussed plans for a common activity within the central zone, announcing the exciting decision to launch a football league that will foster camaraderie and friendly competition among alumni.

Mr. Amit Mishra, JAAI Treasurer and WUJA youth advocate, and Mr. Maheep Singh, both focused on the strengthening of the WUJA youth network. Amit proposed the creation of a dedicated youth wing at both the alumni and central zone levels, a move that received widespread support.

In an exciting announcement, it was revealed that Ranchi Province will host the next Central Zone Conclave, setting the stage for more collaborative endeavors and meaningful discussions.

The JAAI Central Zone Conclave demonstrated the dedication and commitment of Jesuit alumni to promoting education, collaboration, and positive change in society.
