B. Schools are procuring newer devices to keep up with the pace of technology, but the electricity rates are hiked every year
C. The private company had installed the plant and invested in it. The School has to pay the electricity bill to the company. Company charges half the rate per unit as compared to the MSEB and the contract is valid for 25 years from the date of installation, said the School officials.
D. Daryl De Sales, the school’s alumnus who now works as a consultant in the solar industry, initiated the idea.
E. This installation provides the same amount of electricity to the school at the rate of Rs 4 per unit as compared to Rs 7 to 8 by MSEB

A. Netmetering took time to get operational and still issues persist with Torrent. This is dependent on existing policies and skill of vendor and enery supplier too
B. A key parameter for Output efficiency is cleaning the solar panels regularly. Else efficiency can degrade quickly by as much as 50%.

C. For first two years, about 300kW was being generated daily but it has come down.
D. Despite all our efforts, Torrent has not given the net metering, stating that we installed the solar panels, before the policy announced by the GoG. Whatever electricity we generate during holidays, summer, etc., goes to Torrent, but not credited to us!
